Biography - Dee Ann Schnautz |

Dee Ann Piercy Schnautz has been singing and playing music in the Southern Illinois region for several years. She enjoys sharing her God-given musical talents with others and prays that those who listen will be encouraged. At age four Dee Ann began singing by performing at a wedding. In kindergarten she was playing, "Happy Birthday" on the piano for her school's assemblies. She considers herself a "song interpreter" and enjoys making a song her own.
Dee Ann is also a member of the Boyd Homecoming Choir, she performed with Mt. Vernon, Illinois Cedarhurst Choral Project, Christmas of 2001, and with the Casey Middle

School's Night On Broadway for the past three years. She was asked to sing for the Illinois Sheriff's Association annual banquet where Illinois Congressman Shimkus spoke. Dee Ann had the priveledge of placing third place in the International Southern Gospel Music Network contest. Dee performed the "National Anthem" at an SIU-C basketball game this year.
Dee's musical influences include Olivia Newton-John, John Denver, Emmilou Harris, Russ Taff, Sandi Patti, and Lauren Talley.
For the past decade, Mrs. Schnautz has been singing with the gospel trio, "Higher Ground". The country gospel sound of this group is made with Peggy Quick on keyboards and vocals, Madonna Dolan Imel on bass and vocals, and Madonna's son, Ryan Imel, on percussion. They have opened for such notables as The Everly Brothers, Southern Pacific, and Jerry Reed. They have also shared music at the National High School Finals Rodeo church services held in Springfield, Illinois. Dee Ann led singing for this event in 2001 while Paul Luchsinger provided the message. Higher Ground is available for church events, festivals, and weddings.
Dee Ann is married to Jonathan Schnautz and they have ministered together for the past nineteen years at the Antioch Christian Church in Texico, Illinois. Jonathan and Dee Ann also enjoy leading revivals as well as teaching and leading music for retreats and camps. God has blessed them with two delightful children, Sadie and Samuel.

Mrs. Schnautz is currently teaching seventh-grade at Casey Middle School where she hopes to inspire and motivate her students. Dee Ann has a master's degree in reading curriculum from Southern Illinois University. She graduated in the Spring of 2001, from Eastern Illinois University, with a specialist degree in educational administration.
Dee Ann had the privilege and honor to work with one of southern gospel music's most respected songwriters, Phil Cross. Mr. Cross produced Dee Ann's debut project entitled, "Grace Day". He wrote the title cut, "It's Gonna Be A Grace Day" as well as "Hold On". This project can be purchased via our online store at SpurUsOn.com.
