EMERGENCY MONEY

Not too many years ago, my husband, Jono, gave me a $100.00 bill. He said, “Dee, this is your emergency money. Tuck it away and only use it if you have an emergency!” “Great idea”, I thought!
Several months later Jono asked me how my emergency money was? “Oh, I don’t have it anymore!” I said. “Really? You didn’t tell me you had an emergency! What happened?” Jono asked. I replied sheepishly, “There was a really fabulous shoe sale!” Exasperated, Jono smirked, “Well girlfriend, you’re on your own from now on!”
Now thankfully I don’t have quite the shoe fetish that Emelda Marcos has. I mean I don’t have 2,500 pairs of shoes! Let’s face it! I didn’t use my resources well! Thankfully we have a God who is our constant resource. He’s always there whether we have an emergency or not! Let’s just pray we aren’t only calling him for emergencies!
Did I learn my lesson? I think so! Next time I’ll just use my Discover card!
